Astilbe chinensis Little vision in Pink P.W.
Chinese astilbe Little vision in Pink P.W.
This perennial forms clumps of finely divided, dark green foliage and produces spikes of pale to medium pink flowers on sturdy stems in late spring and summer. The elongated flower clusters add color and texture to the garden while attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Water regularly to keep the soil moist, but avoid waterlogging. During dry periods, ensure the plant receives enough water. Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring to encourage growth and blooming. Astilbes do not require excessive fertilization; a light feeding is usually sufficient. After flowering, cut back the faded stems to encourage new growth and maintain the plant’s shape. In winter, you can leave the dead stems in place to protect the roots from the cold, and trim them back in early spring before new growth begins.
