Astilbe chinensis Visions in Pink
Chinese astilbe Vision in Pink
This Astilbe forms beautiful clumps of finely divided, dark green foliage, providing a backdrop to its stunning spikes of pale to medium pink flowers. These dense, airy flower panicles appear in late spring and early summer, adding texture and color to the garden while attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Astilbe prefers soil that is well-hydrated but well-drained, as stagnant water can lead to root rot. Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring, before the growth period, to encourage abundant blooming. Astilbes do not require excessive fertilization; a light application of compost or organic fertilizer in spring is usually sufficient. After flowering, you can cut back the faded stems to encourage new growth and maintain a tidy shape, which will also help prolong the blooming period and enhance the overall appearance of the plant.
