Chinese astilbe Visions P.W.

An elegant perennial that forms clumps of finely divided, dark green foliage. In late spring and summer, it produces stunning spikes of pale pink flowers, borne on sturdy stems. The elongated flower clusters add a touch of color and texture to the garden, while attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies. Astilbe prefers consistently moist soil. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, to maintain constant moisture. Be sure not to let the soil dry out, particularly in summer. Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring to encourage healthy growth and abundant blooms. Generally, Astilbes do not require excessive fertilization. After flowering, cut back faded stems to maintain a neat shape and encourage new growth. In winter, you can leave the dead stems in place to protect the roots from cold, then trim them back in early spring.
