Morus Alba Pendula ‘Chaparral’ STD
Chaparral Weeping Mulberry
A weeping mulberry variety distinguished by its elegant, cascading shape. It develops a straight central trunk topped with drooping branches that create a rounded, supple shape, ideal for small gardens or as an ornamental tree. Its leaves, green and slightly serrated, remain fresh and attractive during the summer and turn yellow in autumn. Although this mulberry is not particularly fruitful, it does produce non-edible fruit, which is popular with birds. Once established, it is drought tolerant, but it benefits from regular watering during its growing season. This mulberry is hardy and tolerates cold winters, but mulching around the roots can help protect the plant from severe frosts. Light pruning in early spring helps maintain the shape of the tree and remove dead or damaged branches.
