Coreopsis verticillata Zagreb
Coreopsis verticillata Zagreb
A very popular perennial for its bright flowers and light foliage, *Coreopsis verticillata ‘Zagreb’* produces daisy-like yellow flowers that bloom throughout the summer, from June to October. They are particularly vibrant and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Its fine, light green foliage, made up of narrow leaves, forms an airy, light clump that remains decorative even after flowering. Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry between waterings. This plant tolerates some drought once established, but it enjoys regular watering during its active growing period, especially in hot weather. Apply compost or a balanced fertilizer in spring to encourage blooming. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this could promote excessive leafy growth at the expense of flowers. Remove faded flowers regularly to encourage new blooms and extend the blooming period. At the end of the season, cut back the dry stems to the base to keep the plant neat and well-shaped. A light trim in spring can also be done to refresh the plant before new growth begins.
