A hardy and easy-care shrub. It has dark green foliage that turns yellow, orange and red in autumn. Its small yellow trumpet-shaped flowers appear in summer, attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Ideal for hedges or beds. Water regularly during establishment, then only in case of drought. Prune in early spring to maintain its shape and encourage abundant flowering. Very hardy, Diervilla lonicera does not require special protection in winter. Mulch can be applied to protect the roots in very cold climates and to conserve soil moisture.
