Burning Bush Compactus

A shrub prized for its rounded shape and dark green foliage in summer, which turns a vibrant red in the fall. Its unique winged branches provide decorative interest even in winter. Hardy and easy to care for, it is ideal for hedges, borders or as a stand-alone plant in the garden. Plant in full sun to maximize fall color. Water regularly during establishment, then moderately thereafter. Prune in early spring to maintain shape and remove dead branches. Very hardy, it does not require special winter protection. Mulch can be applied to protect the roots in areas with harsh winters and to conserve soil moisture.
