An evergreen shrub valued for its bright, contrasting foliage. Its dark green leaves are edged with a bright golden yellow, adding colour all year round. It can be used as a low hedge. Hardy and versatile, it tolerates cold and urban conditions well. Water regularly when established, then moderately. Prune lightly in spring to maintain a compact shape and encourage new growth. Very hardy, it does not require special winter protection. Mulch can be applied around the base in areas with very cold winters to protect the roots and conserve soil moisture.
