Hibiscus syriacus Hamabo STD
Hamabo Rose of Sharon STD
A highly prized ornamental hibiscus grafted on stem, renowned for its spectacular flowering. This cultivar is distinguished by its large pale pink flowers with a red center, creating a luminous contrast with its dark green, glossy foliage. This combination provides a particularly impressive visual display throughout the summer. Its upright and well-structured form, supported by a single stem, allows this plant to rise with elegance, making it an ideal focal point for gardens, terraces, or balconies. To maintain its tidy appearance, regularly remove faded flowers to encourage new blooms.
Care and Maintenance:
Before the frost: If the hibiscus is grown in the ground, dig it up before the first frosts and place it in a pot for winter protection.
Indoor placement: Position the hibiscus in a bright, cool location (between 5 and 10°C), away from drafts and heat sources (such as radiators).
Watering: Water moderately, only when the soil is dry, to avoid excess moisture and the risk of root rot.
Fertilizing: Do not fertilize in winter. Resume fertilizing in spring to promote growth and blooming.
Pruning: Lightly prune any dead or damaged branches before bringing the plant indoors for winter, to preserve its shape and encourage new growth in the spring.
Returning outdoors: Once the risk of frost has passed (late May), gradually acclimate the plant to outdoor sunlight to avoid thermal shock.
