JUNIPERUS PROCUMBENS ‘NANA’
Dwarf Japanese garden Juniper Nana
A prostrate, compact variety of juniper, particularly appreciated for its spreading form and dense, dark green foliage. This dwarf juniper is ideal for rockeries, borders, or as a ground cover in gardens. Its slow growth allows it to spread horizontally, creating a dense ground cover. It remains green all year round, with a slightly blueish tinge during the winter, making it an excellent plant for adding texture and colour to outdoor spaces. This juniper is drought tolerant once established, and requires little maintenance. Moderate watering is recommended during the establishment period, but after that it can cope with poor soils and occasional watering. A layer of mulch around the base can be helpful to protect the roots from frost during the first few years. Pruning is not essential, but a light trim in late winter or early spring can be done to maintain its compact shape and remove dead or distorted branches. This will help maintain a clean, dense appearance throughout the year.
