Lavandula angustifolia Super Blue
Super Blue Lavender
A popular lavender variety for its spikes of bright blue-purple, fragrant flowers that appear in late spring and last into summer. Its dense, aromatic, grey-green foliage complements its elegant appearance, adding a touch of colour and texture to the garden. This compact lavender is ideal for borders, beds, rockeries or container plantings. Once established, it is drought-resistant and tolerates poor soils. However, moderate watering is necessary during the establishment phase to ensure good rooting. Overwatering can be detrimental to the plant, so it is important to allow the soil to dry out between waterings. It is advisable to protect the roots with a layer of mulch. Pruning is done after flowering, usually in late summer or early spring, to remove dead stems and encourage new growth. Light pruning also helps to maintain a compact shape and encourage a generous flowering the following year.
