Malva sylvestris Zebrina
Hollyhock Mallow Zebrina
A bushy perennial with white flowers streaked with purple, they are particularly striking due to their striking contrast. These attractive flowers, which appear from late spring through to summer, are surrounded by light green, often slightly toothed foliage. This malva is ideal for borders, beds or even rockeries, where it adds a bright and original splash of colour. Once established, it is relatively drought tolerant and requires little maintenance, apart from light pruning in late summer to maintain a good shape and encourage new flowering. It is hardy and can withstand cold winters, although mulching around the roots is recommended to protect the plant from severe frosts.
