Prunus avium Bing
Bing Cherry
A variety of sweet cherry tree particularly appreciated for its large, juicy and very sweet black fruits, ideal for fresh consumption. The cherries are firm and have a sweet flesh, perfect for desserts or jams. This cultivar is disease resistant and produces fruit regularly. Self-sterile, it is recommended to plant another variety of cherry tree to ensure cross-pollination, such as a cherry tree of the same species that flowers at the same time. It begins to produce fruit about 4 to 7 years after planting. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid overwatering. Pruning is done in late winter or early spring, before the vegetation resumes. Remove dead or weak branches to encourage new healthy growth and improve air circulation.
