Ozark Premier Plum

A variety of plum tree highly prized for its juicy, sweet, medium to large fruits. The plums, reddish in colour, have firm, tasty flesh, ideal for fresh consumption, pies, or jams. This plum tree is self-fertile, meaning it does not need another variety to pollinate, although cross-pollination can improve the harvest. It begins to produce fruit about 3 to 4 years after planting. It tolerates some drought once well established, but it must be watered regularly during dry periods, avoiding excess water. Pruning is done in late winter or early spring, before the vegetation restarts, removing dead or damaged branches to encourage healthy new growth and good fruit production.
