Pyrus communis Dewdrop
Dewdrop Pear Tree
A compact and hardy variety of pear tree, ideal for small gardens or tight spaces. Pears of this variety are small to medium, with a smooth greenish-yellow skin, sometimes slightly pink on the sides exposed to the sun. The flesh is sweet, juicy and slightly tart, offering a delicate and refreshing flavor. Self-sterile, it is therefore recommended to plant another variety of pear tree nearby to ensure cross-pollination. It usually begins to produce fruit about 3 to 4 years after planting. Watering must be regular, but not excessively to avoid root rot. Pruning is done in late winter or early spring, before the vegetation restarts, to encourage healthy growth and a bountiful harvest.
