Pyrus communis Harovin Sundown
Harovin Sundown Pear Tree
A variety of pear tree known for its high quality pears and abundant yield. The fruits are medium to large in size, with a smooth, greenish-yellow skin, sometimes slightly tinged with red when exposed to the sun. The flesh is firm, crisp, and slightly sweet, ideal for fresh consumption, but also for preserves or compotes. This variety is self-sterile, so it is necessary to plant another variety of pear tree that flowers at the same time to ensure cross-pollination. ‘Harovin Sundown’ begins to produce fruit about 4 to 5 years after planting. Watering must be regular, especially during dry periods, but it is important not to exceed, in order to avoid root rot. Pruning is done in late winter or early spring, before the vegetation resumes, to stimulate growth and improve fruit production.
