Maiden Grass

A delicate and elegant ornamental grass, prized for its fine, airy foliage. Its long, narrow, arching green leaves create a light, flowing effect, bringing a refined texture to the garden. In late summer and early autumn, this variety produces panicles of silvery flowers that contrast beautifully with its foliage. Perfect for borders, beds or as a backdrop plant, where its graceful form and sparkling blooms add dimension. It is drought tolerant once established, but benefits from moderate watering during its growing season. Once established, it is drought tolerant and low maintenance, cutting the stems back to around 10-15cm from the ground is recommended to encourage healthy growth in spring. It is hardy and will withstand cold winters, although mulching around the roots may be useful to protect the plant from extreme frost.
