Burbank Plum

A variety of plum tree appreciated for its sweet, juicy and slightly tart fruits, medium to large in size. The plums, red to purple in color, are ideal for fresh consumption, but also for jams, pies and other desserts. This cultivar is disease resistant and very productive. Self-sterile, it is recommended to plant another variety of plum tree that flowers at the same time to ensure cross-pollination. It begins to produce fruit about 3 to 4 years after planting. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid excess water to avoid root rot. Pruning is done in late winter or early spring, before the vegetation restarts. Remove dead or weak branches to improve air circulation and encourage vigorous growth.
