A slow-growing, spreading conifer that forms a dense mat of silvery-grey-green foliage. Native to cold regions of Russia, it is particularly prized for its cold hardiness and ability to adapt to a variety of soil types, as long as they are well-drained. This plant is ideal for ground cover, slopes or rock gardens, where it can act as a ground cover while providing interesting texture with its finely cut foliage. In autumn and winter, its foliage takes on subtle purple-brown hues, adding colour to your outdoor spaces. Requires only moderate watering, being fairly drought-tolerant once established. It requires little maintenance, but a light mulch can be applied to protect its roots in winter.
