Hedelfingen Cherry

A sweet-fruited cherry variety, medium-sized, with dark red skin and firm, juicy and tasty flesh. Cherries of this cultivar are perfect for fresh consumption, but also for making jams, pies and other desserts. Self-fertile, it does not need another variety to produce fruit, although cross-pollination can improve yield. This cherry tree begins to produce fruit about 4 to 5 years after planting. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun exposure. Water regularly, especially in dry periods, but avoid overwatering. Pruning is done in late winter or early spring, before the vegetation restarts, to remove dead or weak branches and promote healthy growth.
