A plum variety highly prized for its delicious and versatile fruit. Its medium-sized plums have a blue-purple skin and firm, sweet, slightly tart flesh. They are ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for jams, compotes, and other desserts. Self-fertile, this plum does not require another variety to produce fruit, although cross-pollination can improve yield. It begins to produce fruit about 4 to 5 years after planting. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid overwatering as this can cause root rot. Pruning is done in late winter or early spring, before the vegetation restarts. Remove dead or weak branches to encourage healthy growth and improve air circulation.
