Its yellow to golden flesh is juicy, sweet, and slightly tangy, making it an excellent choice for fresh eating as well as cooking, jams, and drying into prunes. In spring, it produces an abundant display of highly ornamental white blossoms, which appear before or with the foliage and attract many pollinators, adding strong ornamental value to orchards and gardens.
